A year of adventure

A year ago today would I have thought I would be on top of a mountain flying a flag for my own business… probably not!

Of all the things I thought I would achieve this year, climbing Snowdon through the night to watch the Sunrise was not on the list, however much like my business journey, my word was it worth the climb!

This week marks a year since Cockadoodledoo Communications was established a year since I took control of a situation and as Frank Sinatra famously said, ‘I did it my way.’

Cockadoodledoo Communications was established amid the Covid Pandemic, and to take voluntary redundancy in the height of uncertainty many family and friends deemed crazy.

However, like many people Covid, provided me with an opportunity to reflect, an opportunity to take stock, and have the confidence to make a change.

Cockadoodledoo was not a business born out of a lack of alternatives, this was not a stop-gap, but rather a business that at its core has a desire to do things differently.

What’s so different about another PR Agency you may say?

For starters Cockadoodledoo isn’t an agency, we are a consultancy. I have nothing against PR and Marketing Agencies per se, yet I have no desire to join the masses.

Cockadoodledoo offers an in-house, out-of-house experience, we bring all the benefits of in-house, familiarity, the personal touch, and we are always there at the team meetings, yet we have a team of specialists behind us, a team who can fulfil a client needs whatever they may be.

My clients will notice that when I meet with them, to plan the months ahead, I don’ say ‘you, I say ‘we’, this is because I truly believe I am part of their team, I am invested in their aims, and I am passionate about their cause.

The next few months will bring about some positive and exciting changes and I look forward to sharing these with you. This year has been a journey, a journey that is still only at its beginning, and I am so grateful to each and every client that has been part of this journey so far.

To the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, to the Unconventional Distillery, to N-Fuse Sports Nutrition, to United Lincolnshire NHS Trust, the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, and Fitness Barn. To Gainsborough Trinity Foundation, Active Lincolnshire, Lincoln BIG, LeisureSK, Magna Vitae, and besthopes Coaching and Consultancy. To the Royal Yachting Association to Deep Insight, Finishline Racing, Nisa Distribution, and Pro-Noctis Human Performance…. I thank you all for welcoming Cockadoodledoo into your teams.

I am not complacent I know that 60% of businesses fail within the first 3 years, and I am not afraid of failure, there will be setbacks, and there will be learning curves, and much like this climb in the early hours of this morning, it will be painful at times.

But know this Cockadoodledoo is flying proudly today, and we are excited for the year of opportunity ahead.
