Second Place No More

The runners up last season, dominated this season, leading the team standings from the opening round in Guisborough.

The Pro-Noctis-Rotor-Redchilli Bikes presented by Heidi Kjeldsen team have been out to impress and build upon the team’s 2nd place in the overall team standings of 2021. A season in which they reigned supreme in the sprint’s classifications, with the now British circuits champion Jo Tindley taking the title.

The 2022 season started off strong for the Rick Lister managed team which comprises Jo Tindley, Lucy Ellmore, Isabel Darvill, Bexy Dew, Poppy Thomson, Corinne Side, Millie Skinner and Amy Gornall.

In the opening round in Guisborough the team placed 5 riders in the leading group in prime position to score points, and an impeccable ride from Lucy Ellmore to join Jo Tindley in the breakaway in the final 30 minutes, ensured the team left the night with the yellow jersey.

All eyes were on British circuit race champion Jo Tindley, winning all the intermediate sprints and placing 2nd at the finish with a score of 19 out of a maximum 20 points on offer in the Freewheel.co.uk sprints classification.  Tindley’s intention to retain the blue jersey for a second season was clear.

The fast pace of round 2’s new circuit in Galashiels, didn’t faze the Pro-Noctis team, an impressive team performance ensured, and the team finished the night once more with the blue and yellow jerseys and the only team with all 5 riders left in the leading group and in fact the race.

“We have worked really hard on the team dynamics this year and ensuring the girls all want to race for one another. I think the results so far speak for themselves in terms of how committed everyone has been. They are great ambassadors for Pro-Noctis and we couldn’t be prouder.”

Title sponsor, Phil Kelly, Managing Director of Pro-Noctis

“We have developed a strong working relationship with the team and in return we have been rewarded with a high performance unit from top to bottom. We really look forward to seeing how the rest of the season develops”

Round 3 and the Tour Series returned to Sunderland, where despite the team’s involvement in a series of crashes which took Tindley and Gornall out of the race, the team spirit prevailed and riders Corinne Side, Isabel Darvill and Lucy Ellmore dug deep, providing another solid Pro-Noctis performance to extend the teams lead in the overall standings to 9 points.

Next stop was Stranraer for round 4, where the Pro-Noctis-Rotor-Redchilli Bikes riders provided a lesson in team performance, the only team to not have any lapped riders.

Round 5 Galashiels and Round 6 Barking ensued, and by the close of play the Pro-Noctis- Rotor- Redchilli Bikes team extended their lead to an unbeatable margin of 14 points, leaving no doubt to their rivals that this team would be crowned the winners of the Tour Series 2022.

The Pro-Notis-Rotor-Redchilli Bikes team presented by Heidi Kjeldsen won the 2022 Tour Series with a lead of 17 points over the 2nd place team Spectre Wiggle presented by Vitus.

Tindley also convincingly secured the Freewheel Sprints classification Title, with a lead of 8 points over 2nd placed rider Sammie Stuart of Team LDN-Brother UK.

“We are really pleased to have achieved our goal of winning the Sportsbreaks.com Tour Series this year, having lost the series in the final race in 2021 it became a major goal for the team to the point that we built this year’s team around the riders that could help achieve that goal.”“The fact that we held the leader’s jerseys for the whole series is a testament to the quality of riders on the team this year.”

Rick Lister Team Manager

“I am absolutely over the moon with winning the team and the sprints competition at the tour series. It was an absolutely incredible team effort, I am so proud of the girls.”
